just been given a starview box. HELP!

just got this starview box of a friend who was going to through it away. i think it`s an old one not quite shaw. it works when you put codes in manually but would like to update it so it does it it`s self. plug it in to my laptop through usb port and rs232 port on box. turned starview box on. laptop installed some sort of drivers or software. i then tried to look for the starview box in "my computer" but couldnt find it anywhere. i am new to this sort of thing so please forgive me if i sound like a numpty.

what name is on front of unit as all models have different files/firmware there are in downloads and tuts for all of them,at top of page.

hi if its starview you need null cable look wot sort it is then go in cable secion get starview loader and patch then open loader brows patch hit update then just wait then jobs a gooden you need to turn on emu in menu aswell forgot code need to input to get menu up 1557 or somethin one lads will know on here after done patch wen keys change it auto update all time no need to enter keys in man

you need to find out if it clone or not diff softwear for clones here are files you need to see if its clone and here is loader and softwear to
