Starview 4 freeview channels only

can any1 elp me. bought a starveiw box. scanned for chasnnels got loads but can only watch freeveiw, the other channels have $ signs next 2 them. i ave pressed 1571 and turned the box to on and set default but still cant watch any of the $ sign channels. can any1 help me, plzzzzz? ps am new to this

which model is it ?

if its a 6 or a 7, you need a subscription as well as the latest patch
