starview 5 - wont let me download desert dog

Hi set up my new starview box (5) today and cant access teh secret menu 1570, i have looked through all the posts and come accross one from deset dog (tut - dont know what this is though ) it says it is easy to follow as there is instructions, i clicked download and it says i dont ave permission to download which me be caused to having to post something first so giving it a go soing this thread. any ideas in case it still dont let me?

Did'nt know there was an option to download DESSERTDOG, seriously though you have to wait approx 30 mins after your 1st post before you can d/l

I would'nt have "wated a days elave" this can be done in a 10 minute teabreak, once you've got the firmware & tut,

i have downloaded teh file of desert dog and it is just instructions, do you know wher i get the firmware download? ( apologies, i am a girl )

instruction of desert dog are;
Plug in the box and connect the cables
2.Format a usb stick in pc to fat32
3.Copy the firmware onto the stick via the PC.
4 Switch your box off completely and insert the usb in the rear socket.
5.Switch on the box wait for it to boot up.
6.Press menu and scroll to usb press ok
7.The firmware should start to transfer from the usb to the box.
8.Once this has done hit menu and key in 1570 with the remote.
this will bring up the secret menu hi light keycode and change it to on.
9.You should now be set to scan go into menu and select installation,choose automatic scan press ok then choose your provider hit ok again.
You should now get all channels your after.
If by any chance you dont get the channels try a different provider.

i know what firmware does but what does the tut do ?

downloaded it - stuck it in my box and hopefully will work, taking a while to start downloading thou - will get back to you..thanks!

If you follow the tut step by step you won't have a problem, best to format usb stick in pc (much quicker) don't forget to turn the box off before putting in/taking out the usb.

You only have to drag the file & drop into your usb, no need to open the file

woooooooooooooohoooooooooooooo... after my post i went back and did factory restore etc... then started the process again, and it has worked !!!!.... thanks to you all so much, i am sending you all cyber kisses xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.... i am staying on this site forever !! thanks again x nicola
