is there a diffrence in picture quality between hdmi or the scart output or if i use scart on my hd tv am i still reciving hd quality picture as i cant see any diffrence on my small hd tvmany thanks(trying to find out as i have a pioneer plasma dosn't have hdmi slot but have been told will accept hd)

Scart cannot carry HD, that is only available on HDMI and Component - does your Pioneer have component?

yes it has a seperate box its a pdh-503hde with grey and white system cable and component and a rs-232c
