does virgin media now if you connect a alternative cable box

hi can any body help do virgin media now if connect a alternative box as well as the standerd v+ box

non standard boxes dont have talkback, so they couldnt tell if you were watching illigally. but if u are using vm for broadband and use their routers and stuff they could potentially see what stuff is connected to that. eg see your dreambox is connected to the router

i have broadband with them and using there router but the box is not connected directly to the router

then there is no worrries if its a starview 1,2,3,4, eurovox, kryptview. only like dc says if you are using their router they could potentially find out.
