A formatted hard drive will never show the full size the bigger the drive the more you loose once formatted m8Try and re format it to fat32,was the drive new or used before you used it for SV?If i have helped you please dont post Thanks just use the Thanks buttonComment

told you it was probably me being thick yes the drive was new when i connected it to sv. will it recognise the hdd straight away with it being so large or should i give it time to recognise the hdd i bin thinking of going out and getting one of those hardrive rcorders but i guess i would have the same problem with that so gonna carry on with the hdd and just hope i can resolve the problemComment

ok m8 if the drive is formatted to fat32 do this :
connect the drive to the sv making sure the sv is NOT switched on.
give it time to boot up when the channels show on the TV select menu on the Sv remote scroll down to USB then across to USB press OK it should find the USB Device if it doesn't there could be any one of these reason. The device is not formatted correctly try and format it from the SV it will be slow but sometimes it works,if that doesn't work try and partition a 38 Gig section and try and use that. Please Please Do Not Connect Or Disconnect the USB with the box ON.
Let me know how you get on with this m8If i have helped you please dont post Thanks just use the Thanks buttonComment
