    Starview help to a newby

    I
have a starview box (version 1 I think) it has been working fine, however recently I reinstalled the factory settings as I lost a few channels, however this did not work so I attempted to reinstall the files, since this time the screen on the box only shows a minus symbols - which I cant get off. I can’t get any channels at all and when I try to reinstall a new bin file it does not load and states an error. Can anyone help? I am a real beginner at all this so would appreciate your help in very basic instructions please. Really hope you can help.

On a second point, is it true that virgin are going to change frequencies so the boxes will no longer work, my reason for asking is that I am considering getting a new box (recommendations welcome) but don’t want to get caught out by buying one and then it be no use in 2 months.

The - (minus symbol) usually means a blown capacitor
Inexpensive to fix if you can solder yourself. If you look back
thru Stavu threads there should be a guide with pictures
