    Ok here we go

    iv had my starview box for 4 years now and iv not used it for 2 years now iv decided to try it again it turns on fine but its clear it need new sofware and keys i have no idea what i need as i lost all my stuff so please can anyone help me from the start ie what i need

    Hi mate you need to know what box it is ie SV1, SV2 etc make sure you have appropiate connection and software, available from this forum. Also have a look at the stuff in here about nag3 encryption and how it affects your area , I think you will find your box wont be any good now !!

      how do i check that i went into the system info and it says
      API ver : 4.00e_E

        check out starview tutorials section Im sure there is stuff there to help U identify your box eg. how many vents there are at the top, what type of connections at the back and what side they are on! I have a sv3 on older firmware wich requires manual input of keys which are updated in an app called key master v1.2 also available here

          sounds like starview 1, vents and scarts dont mean a thing, cloners copied origional starview 1, so ignore that. just try clone safe firmware.
