hi, I have quickly scanned this forum and as a Technical Newbie, I was wondering if anyone could help?

Our box has gone our, tried entering the new codes stil not working.

I live in Grimsby, and I believe we have not switched over to N3???

So can anybody help me, some one mentioned about downloading some firmware? anyone willing to give me an idiot proof guide on how to do that?

Ok, so updating firmware is way too technical for me, any got the codes that I could put in to see if that works?

not hard,try it, my 5 year old can do it. download file and put it on usb stick. insert stick in usb slot in back of unit(make sure power is off) turn box on, menu, usb, select file and press yes to download.

ok i can try to help you put codes in your box but i cant tell what the codes are ok. get your codes and leave a message here and i will try to help you without breaking any rules. its not easy but it can be done.

Ok my box doesnt have a USB slot at the back of it? I am using the latest pure ntl codes 54 01 .

to enter your codes press menu ,then type 1570 on your remote (make sure its pointing at the box )the hidden menu should now be onscreen ,go down to nagravision and press ok on your remote , now you will see things like provider id and key number and key data . provider id is the id number of your cable company in your case 5401 ,key number will display a 0 and a 1 (we will use that in a bit ) and key data is the last line of code that the box used (the box uses 2 lines of code ) ok here we go . so press menu /type in 1570/press ok on nagravision , check that your provider id is correct (5401) now go down to key number (using your remote set it to 00, now go down below it to key data this is where you start to enter codes (you may only need to edit a few numbers and not the whole line ) you use the colour buttons etc to enter in letters (look near the bottom of your tv screen it tells you which buttons are used to create letters . now get your codes you should have 2 lines of code one starts 00: and then the code the other starts 01: and then the code . ok you have key number set to 00 above so check the line in key data and see where it differs from the new 00: line of code you have ,you just use the right arrow button on the remote to move along the code line and stop on the number or letter you want to change ,when you are happy that the 00: line of code is ok go up to key number and use the right arrow button to change the 00: to 01: now go down to key data and edit that line and put in any changes that you find in the new code that you have , when you are happy that both lines of code are noe correct you need to save (it tells you at the bottom of the tv screen how to save ) now that you are done press exit and now you are back where it says nagravision ,go down to emu and make sure it is set to on (if it is set to off simply use the right arrow button to set it to on )now exit back out all the way to tv channels ,if the code you have is correct and you entered it correctly all channels should now be working.
