    Starview 4 - Birmingham

Hi, i live im birmingham and have lost all channels. Im aware of nagra 3 but just wondering if there was a short term fix or whether they're gone for good. Ive rescanned with no luck and also done a factory reset along with putting keycode back on.

    Thanks.

First of all you need to look in the general cable section to make sure your area has not gone to n3 if it has go no further, your box is toast, if not read on!!!
        Menu > factory settings > 0000 > ok
english > installation > auto scan on your service provider
        once completed press exit.
menu > 1570 > keycode on > press ok on default > exit to a $ channel & leave to update

I think what smirnoff_rules means is that if you read through the post the questions have been asked & answered so many times so you will find what your looking for, for a fellow brummie I will save you the trouble, press menu > system info & find out what firmware is installed, if it is below V1.12 you will need to download & install it then do a factory reset & set up as normal, auto scan etc,
all you need is in the download section, there is also a good tutorial. Don't forget to say thanks to the authors.

Ive tried downloading the firmware but it says "The file link that you requested is not valid." any ideas? There is a link provided in another thread but dont want it to turn out to be a virus

                            This is what i did...

                            1. Downloaded the following file: 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download STARVIEW 4 USB.zip

                            2. Put the .bin file on a usb drive.

                            3. Loaded the .bin file on starview

                            4. all done!

no i didnt leach and run off
