Starview 5- 2.06 Software, Do I have to upgrade?

Just wondering if its a must that I upgrade.

I have tried to view the tutorial about the box numerous times, to be told I don't have the specific requirements in order to download the tutorial that is on these forums.

So in an effort to clarify as to why my starview 5 box won't work I've created a thread.

The problem:
After starting the box up I got around 20 channels, luckily I received a skysports channel in the said bunch.
However, I could only watch the channels that didn't have a "$" sign next to them. Thus, Sky sports was blank when I tried to view.

Now I have just received the box as a birthday present, and I'm asking.

1) Do I have to upgrade the firmware?

2) How to I watch channels with a $ sign next to them?

Upon the revelation that I wasn't able to watch sky sports, I reset my box, and now I have no channels to view.

As soon as I am able I will read the tutorial, but until then can someone shine some light upon my plight?

A solution is an answer

You may upgrade if you wish, however I recommend V2.03 as opposed to V2.06 as it has a few bugs to iron out.

The channels with a $ symbol are scrambled and you need to enable the keycode/emulator as per the tutorial.

This is all dependent on your location and if you are in a Nagra 3 area or not.

And the tutorial I downloaded was, Sv5.

Very much a newbie, just got the Starview 5 and struggling with it but having checked the 'new cards' Nagra may i ask what that is?
Is it going to stop all the boxes?
Any advice is much appreciated.

Just discovered this thread and I apologise if Im sounding particularly thick but is it just a matter of time before nagra 3 is cracked or is my SV5 now pretty much redundant? Tried re scanning channels on different providers, factory re-sets etc but getting nothing but standard channels. I live in Leicestershire. Running 2.03, is this the best its gonna get?
