Starview 4 "this is a clone box" message

My Starview 4 box has suddenly began displaying the message "this is a clone box" on the display when I switch on or when I change channel.

As far as I can tell my box is genuine and I haven't updated the firmware for ages (currently running 1.12).

Any ideas what is causing the problem? Is there any danger to my box or should I just ignore it?

clones and earlier genuine boxes display this message if they have been flashed with firmware after the V1.07. version
do not remove power from the box as it will die (pray you don't have a powercut)

From what I can see it is not a clone though and has only just started displaying the message? Either way is it worth downgrading to 1.07?

the later firmware was also killing earlier genuine boxes
a lot of people have had to upgrade to v1.12 to be able to get all channels after virgin upgraded their system to get it ready for the nag3 changeover
so if you go back you will not get all the channels
I have also seen the odd post where people have removed power and been OK but I would err on the side of caution

look in thru vent on top to see if you see a heatchip on chip,dammed if you do dammed if you dont,as boxes are not going to last anyway because of nagra3 as you wont have anything to lose.

warning message on sv4

i was usng 1.07 which i updated to 1.12 and now i keep on getting a warning when i change channels saying this is a cloned box. I read some of the other posts regarding this but no help. is there anyone that could help sort this out?

Right above your head m8 > starview section > red stickies > The Box Super USB V1.12
