Lost some channels on SV5 in last few days

I have SV5, using fine for lst 6 months. Noticed few channels - Sky movie ch (not all), Sky Sports Extra showing as blank screen with "No signal" msg. Noticed this in last 2-3 days.. I got tempted and did autoscan, lost all channels. But was able to see Fav menu where i had BBC News on, so that played fine.. All the rest categories became blank. I then thought of resetting with firmware v2.3 that i got from the seller and had been using all this while. Heres what i did:
    1) Reset to factory settings (by mistake did it with USB stick connected, is that a prob??)
    2) After reset, it rebooted.. Menu -> USB -> and then reloaded the firmware TheboxSuperUSB2_v2.03.20090923. On 100% completion, did autoscan with NTL.
    3) Autoscan picked "No channels", even then hit Menu+1570, to enable key.

Tried all this many times, but have now lost all channels. Does that mean I am affected by Nag3 ?? Did I cause premature death of my SV5 by trying autoscan in the process losing even those channels that were visible? Can these be restored? System Info keeps showin v2.3 even after reset of factory settings, is it normal? I m on VM, not heard anything re new cards here.. Location: Cambridgeshire...

Plz sugst if service cn be restored for some more time before it eventually runs out??

    Many thks

Going by the excellent post & regular updates by sakiblateef your area is ok http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...w-cards-93125/
Factory settings will not change the firmware, have you tried scanning on different providers, tw,ntl & c&w? definately worth a go.

I did try autoscan with TW in addition to NTL, but not the others one available in the menu list. Will do it tonight and report back. But, i do remember that first time I got this I used NTL as the option to run AutoScan.

Have I missed a trick doing the reset factory settings and then reloading it from USB??

      Thx

Great news.. Tried autoscan with "OM", and it worked.. I noticed a difference this time. When I first did it with NTL few months back, channels were spread into correct categories, however lot of channels remained in "All Channels" category, some didnt even get recognised incl some S*y Mvies channels. I had to manually locate them and add them into Fav category.
This time with "OM" all(most) channels got recognised but spread them with wrong categories eg. Sports category has News channels.. Thats no issue for me just wanted to flag it to all of you.

But I'm intrigued, what happened this time that it worked?

        Thx guys!!

Update: All channels have gotten back into the correct groups/categories. It was a case of rebooting SV.
