JTAG help starview the box super (USB)

Hi all has anyone Jtagged there box and got it to work?

I bought the cable ,however its the com port at one end and six loose wires at the other that need to be soldered.

The problem is which wires(6) do i solder to which pins (4) and which wires do i leave out?

    any help would be appreciated.

The good news.........Anyone who has 1 max JTAG with plugs at each end... your in luck.

Heres a link for instruction and photos on jtagging hope it helps.http://www.4shared.com/document/tY8H...arvie.html?s=1

Lets hope someone can help me.

    many thanks in advance Fingers

The Jtag you have is of no use to you as it is a Max232 interface that you need.

The Max232 reduces RS-232 inputs to standard 5 V TTL levels. This in turns allows you to flash the box via the 4 pin header on the board.

The Jtag even if following the correct pin out will not drop to the required TTL Levels.

You can get the Max232 here Tailor-Made Circuits or at numerous other suppliers.

Have you looked at the Nagra 3 threads and how quickly each area is changing over?

Thanks for your quick response Satsmo, will have to purchase a new cable.

I no n3 is coming quick, but both my boxes went down last week and ive managed to get the box super working again!!!(factory reset,v8.o4e firmware, set default key,1570 etc.

Its the box super USB thats died (my fault). do you think it may be a waste of money buying a new cable as n3 maybe uncrackable?

Do you no of anyone in a n3 area whos box still works?

Sorry for all the questions but you seem to no alot about this subject

Many thanks again for your response hope to hear from you again soon.

Sorry when i said it died and it was my fault.........i mean i loaded the new firmware (v1.21) got impatient with the blank screen and turned the power off.........resulting in a 8882 error message!

            does this make a difference?

Did you try to reflash without the Max232? I would try that first and then go the Max232 route. Reason I said is look at other areas from an N3 perspective is purely based on if you want to invest on fixing it.

TBH its small investment for some particular areas.

                  Hi all,
My Starview 5 froze while downloading the EPG today so powered off and now it won't power on, 8882 flashes up briefly then the display reverts to ----. Any ideas?
                  Thanks

Hi SATSMO sorry for the delay........You asked if i should reflash the box (not a clone) before buying a new max 232 cable! I thought the 8882 error code powered down the usb input so im not sure how to flash the box....(it wont recognize the pen drive)

                    Any ideas?

Thanks again for your time Fingers
