Starview The Super - No Idea?

    Hi,

I am a regular EuroVox user but updated a friends Starview box as a favour, which worked for a few weeks then (now despite a full re-scan) they no longer receive the erm Virgin Media scrambled channels just the FTA channels. The Starview box they have is a Starview The SuperBox.

At the same time my Eurovox lost it's channels but a re-scan sorted this, from what I can see Virgin Media renumbered a few channels i.e. Hallmark etc.

Looking at the forum posts, how on earth do I know which Starview model the Super box is? When I uploaded the firmware to the box originally I used the file GTROM_Super_8.04e. Is there a new firmware patch out to get the Super Box working again or is this the start of the Virgin Media crackdown in preperation for the new uncrackable scrambled channels they are moving too, if so how come the Eurovox still works in the same area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, please no flaming for me sounding such a noob ;-)

    Thanks.

if other box works this should also, factory reset 0000 to delete
auto scan from direct feed and also press set default key and emu to on ,and go to a sly channel to update.

        >> 'press set default key and emu to on' ?
Any forum posts on here that go into a bit more detail as to what this means, am I looking for configuration options in the menu on the Starview box?

        >> 'sounds like sv3... no other f/ware..where are you? and is >> your mate in same area?? ie, his area may now be nag3!!' Defo in the same area he lives a few doors up from me. Not too sure what 'no other f/ware' menas though? Is there a forum post anywhere that provides info on how to idenitfy the Starview box model?

if it says The Box Super on the front then its a SV3

firmware 8.04e is for a SV3 and is the latest firmware

from the remote press menu/then enter 1570 this will open a screen with the emu and default key options, enable key emu then press the default key and then exit out and put on SS1 and hopefully it will update ok
