http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f5/forum-rules-2/ regards CS discussions, however there are many threads here from a discussion only point of view.

      This sort of quote
anyone got any sugestions except paying of course?
is one of the main reasons why most now have to look at other avenues.

For plug n play CS look at the later Starview models and the Kryptview A750 with Iconn.

For CS in general use google and have a long read.

BTW there is no such thing as free TV.

i opolagize if i have broken forum rules only trying to get info i have googled c/s and although i understand the basic concept i still dont understand all the hardware i need (obviously a internet conection)i have a starview 4&5 i could prob get a wireless usb conection on that but thats where my understanding ends .this forum has been great for info so thought someone may be able to simplify things for me.also looked at the krypto 750 last night do i need this instead of starview 5?or maybe satalite
c/s looks a good option but i havent a clue where to start

                    hi
newbie here,im in the manfield area got our nag 3 card last week so i guess the end is nigh I've got a starview 4&5 only found out about these about 7 months ago and its been great. i always subscribed to sky for years untill this recent find. pity it has to end
i have spent the entire morning looking at possible alternatives c/s being the main one but its just too confussing for me im not sure where to start so could do with your help
i have a list of questions
                    a) can i connect starview 4&5 to a c/s network
                    b) if not im looking at the starview hd combo because its hd has sat as well as cable and the reviews i've read look good unless you can think of a better alternative ?
c)what do i need exactly hardware wise? i have an internet connection wireless connection to my device is favourable although not essential
d)once hardware is sorted i obviously need software patches etc
                    e) where do i get myself into a c/s club ?
a step by step guide is needed by myself if anyone can help pls point me in the right direction maybe a link something easy to understand as im no techie
thanks in advance all help apprieciated

From a CS perspective and as close to plug n play on cable look at the Kryptview with IConnector. Other manufacturers, (SV etc, etc,), will follow but from a UK perspective Kryptview is about the best supports closed source box.

But cable is the poor cousin of CS so look at Sat if you want to have a better viewing/hobby experience. This requires as said earlier a bit of reading or you can at your own choice go down the pay server route but I wouldn't recommend it.

Google is the best option for CS info, I and others can only post info within the boundaries of the rules we have here.

for information purposes it would be good if someone could post a picture of the iconn. If rules allow........
