    New Help

I was thinking of getting a starview HD box. I just want to know what I will be needing eg. The provider (virgin) and once that is done how do I obtain all the channels that I will be paying for? Please point me to a thread which explains all or a start up guide.

          Hey

Hey Im new to the forum ( Hi everyone!! ), So my knowledge on the starview subject is probably very limited in comparrison to everyone elses!! I think it depends on what area you live in.. How long its going to be before the starview box stops working... If you did buy one the way it worked for us was:
          Buy starview box from Ebay
hook it up to existing cable provider connection (Little round cable hole In wall behind TV)
          Connect to TV
Switch on and follow instructions given on all of the various forums...Scan, enter code etc..
I think we were quite lucky as our Starview (5 i think) came with the firmware on already, so havent had to do too much messing around with 'flashing' etc so far...! Also we are in Ireland so not sure if we are behind in terms of the cable providers 'breaking' these boxes...?
          Hope this helps (a little!)
the way we looked at it was - The box cost 80 pounds, so If we got two months out of it, Thats less than what two months full cable subscription would have cost.. Its been going for 6 months now!!

We havent got a cable subscription as such - The connection was live from before we moved into our apartment, I believe though if its a new build / new cable connection and you get the basic backage turned on...Starview should work...Tho I could be wrong!!!
