Starview 1 help? and then what??

Hi,

I have a starview 1 and am hoping to watch the old firm game tonight. didnt realise it was on sly snorts. I used to be able to get it working as had firmware on my friends box. its gone now and i no longer have a coms port as i only have a laptop now.

does anyone have any advice on an alternative way to flash
or
does anyone have a starview and paypal who wouldnt mind discussing a temporary workaround
and
does anyone have any advice on whats the best box to get for future use?
is starview still the easiest to use?

have you tried a factory reset 0000 to delete,auto scan your provider,find channels,exit then menu1570 key emu to on.
most places are going to nagra3 encryption and boxes are then useless.

My starview 4 box as gone...N3 in th eregion...

Does starview 6 HD Combo or Lan work with n3..

please help before i buy a new box

I have an original Starview and vermin have sent me out a new card - I am just holding out for as long as possible before disconnecting 'old faithfull'. had four great years out of this box and it has never let me down.

Here's hoping another workaround, for N3, comes onto the market soon

Totally agree Yhetti similar amount of time mine had good service over the years. RIP starview....
