Starview 5 (the Box usb II)

My father in law recently bought a starview box which worked fine but he started losing channels so re scanned, he lost all channels then so was using his virgin box (which he has basic channels on) he bought another thinking he had done something to the other but this one won't work either, it won't find any channels at all.
I have brought it over to my house to check with my cable and it won't work at all it finds nothing. I know all the usual 1570 menu bits and pieces as i have my own box (the very first one) which works like a treat. Does anyone have any info about this new box that maybe is different to what i'm use to?

what do you mean by no channels, do you get basic. has software been loaded, and where are you, nag 3 will stop all boxes working very soon, no more free tv.

I get no channels at all, it says no channel found when i scan. He lives in northampton, his daughter who lives 2 doors down still has a working box i just can't get this ine to work. I downloaded an update onto a usb but no idea if that worked or not but nothing changed, i'm hoping its just me being stupid

check what f/ware is on.. menu, system info...

also, try different provider...

I have the same problem.. and 1570 is not working either..

Does this mean they don't work anymore???

I'm a bit confused as my box works at my house but not my in laws...surely thats a box problem not a connection problem?

do they have a virgin box that works there, just thinking it may be faulty coax etc, is there connection defo live.

yeah as virgin went down the other day and they rang them up and it was reconnected...i'm just a bit baffled as at my house i am using all my wires???

no no mention, i have had enough of nagra 3, sooner they all go the better, just same questions everyday, nobody reads anything.
