solved it , got me a hdmi smart switch 3.1 from maplin electronics and its away you go,picture is perfect.by the way it is powerd just like alex says,all for ?30.now time to start on the sat side and i aint got a clue any ideas ??

i dont think its a problem with all tosh tvs mine is a 42 xv503db i think its just the xv series by putting a hdmi switch on it allows the tv to hdmi handshake with the combo box so that they can talk to each other.anyway it works fine ok

Got a HDMI selector 3 way with option to power from fleebay
and IT WORKS!!! even without power
It cost ?9.98 AMAZING!

Looks like we have that issue too - I have a powered switch which I'llhave to give a go. It might even sort out the chuffin' media player that doesn't display a picture on our LG.

Works fine on my Toshiba Regza 37Z3030D, looks like it could be a problem with the newer Toshiba LCD's.

Just outta of interest, has anyone tried it on any of Toshiba's LED TVs, thinking of upgrading to a bigger screen size and would rather go the route of LED than LCD.

I have a medion powered 4 way splitter works fine with 37" lcd. i have read somewhere if you turn the stb off turn the tv tv on then access the hdmi input the stb is on then turn the stb on it works
