starview 3 what lead i need to upload software from my laptop into starview 3 box ???

hi i received a lead when i bought starview 3 box but it is not compatible with my laptop its just the same as end of lead does not connect to laptop. i want to update the box as i havnt updated since i bought it please can someone tell me where and what lead will help me thanx

you will need a null modem cable and may be a usb adpater
