No Signal on Cable side

Upgraded my box from a Eurovox. Followed the instructions here and flashed correctly.

I say correctly because i was able to view everything. Last night upon turning the tv over to another channel and all of a sudden im getting a no signal. Everything went. Satellite side is fine.

I installed the lastest firmware, Feb 2010 i think it is but to no avail.

Any fix for this? I ask this seriously knowing about the N3 problem but my neighbours box is working fine.

I dont even get any of the FTA channels. Im not sure if i would if it is the N3 issue.

looks like you have definitely lost your signal for some reason or other,
do you pay a sub to VM as you may have been cut off
check all your connections but it also could be your tuner has gone in the box

The box is less than 24 hours old. One second working and then next minute not. I am not A VM customer.

Heres where i am. I borrowed my next door neighbours VM box. Bless.

Anywho i was able to pick up all the FTA stuff so i assumed it was the cable being loose or something like that. Had a box for a couple of years and never had any cable issues before.

I cannot pick up anything other than the FTA stuff now. I tried that latest firmware aswell as the Dec 09 one.

I have scanned and rescanned a few times now and the box finds between 300 and 500 channels each time. Never the same.

All boxes that i have in my area that i know of all still work fine. The nearest being just a few hundred yards away.

Beginning to pull my hair out now as lost as to why i cannot receive anything anymore other than the FTA.

hmm...can you please explain the key edit menu for me a little please.

Also, may i add that the first time i loaded the firmware onto the box and factory reset it etc and then scanned, that was all i need to do. Once i exited out of a scan it saved and a few secons later i was watching tv.

goto menu/and highlight accessory
press 8989 on the remote and the keyedit should appear, select it and press OK and check that auto update is on

Keyedit appeared as you said. Auto option (was called something else with auto in it, not helpful i know but im not in front of tv right now) was already set to ON.

So exited out. Should i rescan or just leave it?

only thing I can really suggest is
make sure you have the latest firmware loaded
scan for channels on your provider and set auto update on
put on scrambled channel like sky sp 1 and hopefully it will up date
if no joy you could try other providers to see if any luck

Thanks for all your help smoggy. I seemed to have more success with the Dec 09 firmware.

However if i update the firmware do i need to update any other file aswell?

Right. Did as suggested, waited a while and to my delight the channels returned. Good times, however..

I waited till morning to post and say thanks again. Got caught up watching some HD discovery program and once again, at roughly the same time of night, was just past 1am it goes off again saying No Signal.

Im beginning to think my box is faulty. Could this be the case?
