I have an old starview 1 that went off in the middle of the month,Is this a nagra 3 issue I am reading about ? or a fimware update issue ? northwest area and a bit of a novice

If you go to staview section it will tell you how to do a factory reset and that may be the answer. good luckComment

Specifically mention what area your from or look on the list if your area has switched to N3 otherwise follow below
Menu, factory setting pin 0000, press ok to delete
English, Installation, choose your cable network, auto scan (wait for this to complete)
exit till your on your channels
Now press Menu 1570 (Quickly) a hidden menu will appear, where it says Key EMU change to on, put it on a pay channel and wait for a update,
If it says scrambled or bad channel and only channels 1-5 work, ur area has switched to N3, Read various posts re CS
Correct firmware u should be using is crypstar 1.5, u can check this via menu, system infoComment
