will free channels work when n-3 arrives?

Hi folks, very new to this, was thinking of getting a starview box but much chat of n-3 blocking channels. Does anyone know if the free channels will still be availible if this happens or would buying a box now be a waste of money? Hope this wasn't easy to find on existing threads

cheers, just wondered if buying starview box better than getting 2nd v**gn one installed. ariel off roof so thaught a special box may be a good option. not wanting to say dodgy stuff but are further options avail to get more from box in future, or will all bets be off soon even for free cable channels?
