    Starview 6 Cable +

    Hi Guys,

First can I say in advance that I appreciate any help that is given to me on these boards, you guys don't have to be here helping out and it is appreciated!

Basically I bought a Starview Combo +, and cannot get it to work. I've read all the relevant posts about firmware and known issues and just cannot seem to piece it all together. I'm not computer illiterate by any means, so I'll try and explain what I've done so far.

I have tried to install these via USB:

    Guinness_HD+_Combo_With Cccam Fix_0524
    GrooveRider_HD_Combo_+_0122
    CARLING-1.00 FOR UK

The top two get to 40% then say "failed" please check USB. There is nothing wrong with the USB, it is formatted to fat32, and the box can read all files on it.

I am situated in London and running a cable which is attached to Virgin media in the road outside.

Can anyone provide me a step by step guide to install this please, it's starting to feel like ?180 badly spent!

    Thanks in advance

which box do you hsve, heading for thread says sv6, but then you say you have combo, and some files you are loading seem to be for sv6. im not to converse with sv6, as they are having too many issues and decided not to sell them, starview support is shite now, if they cant get box to work, bring a new one out, and forget the stuff they just sold. same can be said of combo, brought non lan out with promise of dongles so you could use as lan box, 8 months later f@@k all. lan box still not right, so brought out 9600ip box, starview is not the best to go for.

i started out selling with these, support was good then, but now money making machine, buy a starview, then see a doctor as you may have mental probems.

a year ago i would of stuck up for them, but not now, any promises they give are bs. go sat route more support.

The Guinness_HD+_Combo_With Cccam Fix_0524 file is for Ireland. That may be causing the issues. Use the Carling file.

Servers have been closed down so I wouldn't be investing in an SV6.
