    The Box Super USB

    Hi All,

I have just brought The Box Super USB, when I do an automatic channel search the Box freezes.

I am using firmware version 1.03.

Also the channels found before the Box freezes have a $ by them.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Jon.

what do you mean freezing? Are you talking about pause or box freezing up and not functioning needing reboot.
I just got one yesterday and it stops a few times during scan, firstly at 17%.
At first I thought it was freezing and rebooted but left it for a bit longer and its fine. just too impatient.
The $ means its a pay channel not free channel.
try scanning and leaving it. Also if you want the pay channels you'll need firmware 1.02. its in the downloads.

It pauses for short periods at the beginning then it just stops scanning not matter how log I leave it. The 'exit' button works but then when ever I push a button on the remote the scan screen appears for a few seconds and then disappears. If I reboot the box, then I am able to watch the channels it has found and look at the EPG.

          Cheers,

          Jon

Which firmware version are you using and are you in the UK or Ireland?

hi, satsmo and others, had sv3 for almost 12 mths, no probs. got 2 x sv4usb for mates(thick mancs!!) .before using usb stick, tried autoscan a few times with original f/w, on t/pest and c/clueless. got to 85% and 20% respectively, then froze.switched off/on and could watch usual fta stuff.
then followed info for using usb and all up and running...easy... the thing that got me was, after downloading f/w, to send it to the usb stick. have always had probs with winrar etc, but got it sussed now. hope this helps folks...still waiting for me payment of mates tho...plus a couple of pints as well. ynwa

Starview USB Vr. 1.12 epg retention problem

Hi all, I have the SV USB which I updated the firmware from here. The trouble is that when it downloads the epg, it doesn't seem to remain on the USB stick - it remains for only 24 hours max. Is there a particular type or brand of USB stick that is recommended? Does anyone else have this problem? It was like this before I updated the firmware.
                              Many thanks
