superbox usb watching movies problems

hi again....ive got all channels so thanks for your help...but i was wondering....is it possible to put movies ive downloaded on my pc on to the superbox harddrive and then watch them on my big screen useing the superbox,
ive tried divx movies and it wouldnt play..so does any 1 know what format does the movies have to be in, IE avi, mpeg etc etc
