Anyone seen a cloned SV6 yet then or looks like the end of the road for the SV6 and roll out the SV7.

It was supposed to be released back in May.

the starview 7 will have no lan port, you will need a dongle, means customer has to adapt box to get freebies, importer was worried about bringing them in with lan ports, suppose it makes sense

No LAN port because of legalities? And yes I know who you are talking about.

Maybe an excess of boards without ethernet ports sitting in the factory. TBH if they keep dropping support for legacy boxes that are less than a year in market I wouldnt recommend any new model.

However if support is maintained we will wait and see. As I said above they were supposed to come to market a few months back.

Maybe the new improved "security chip" in the SV6 was not as secure as thought?

thats what what i was told, not sure if there are other motives. but mybe hope for forgotten 500 who bought non lan combo boxes, maybe this dongle will work for them.
but as said, no more starview for me, dont need the hassle it will give me.

I dont think it will Mark as I am going to presume it is a different chipset. Although looking at the new SV7 firmware it is remarkably similar to the SV6 bin file in nearly every aspect.

This thread is already doing enough for pre-sales

think this will more or less finish these boxes, too many issues best left alone

I think it?s a good news for some if starview 7 is coming soon because as long as the company keeps producing this boxes the server will be kept on running, I personally do not have time to watch TV programmes therefore I do not worry about those boxes going on or off.
