help installing starview hd combo +

Hi, I really need help. I have brought a starview hd combo + box and I cant get any channels. The person I brought this from talked me throught the basics but i dosnt pick up any channels. The signal strength is greyed out but changes every few mins from 96% to 46% and back again. The Q signal is 0% and the other % above is always 0% I have been told that the box may need to be reset but not sure how to do the the factory settings have been reset but this doesnt change anything. The cable is Virgin but even if I couldnt get the scrambled channels I should still be able to get fta channels but I cant. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED REALLY PULLING MY HAIR OUT HERE.

make sure your S/R is 6887

think the box needs resetting not sure

Try connecting the box directly, no splitters. if that doesn't work try reflashing and resetting

when searching for channels dont forget to alter start and end frequency try start at 128000 an finish at 564000,doing this worked for me after same problem ,hope this helps

if the frequency changes work can you let me know as I seem to be having a similar problem, although now about to try and install the recommended fw so we'll see...

I have got channels now through auto search and changing the area to 6887 cant get key edit up and dont know where to check the auto update

any help would be appreciated
