starview 7 problems

hi all.
i hope some one can help - i have a starview 7 and want to connect through my onkyo tx-sr607 av. the starview only has scart were the av does not. i used a scart converter to composite, red white and yellow, then connected the composite to cbl input on av. but i have no sound or pic. the starview works ok connected to the tv via acart. av is working ok with other units connected to the same inputs. THANKS

not to sure is there a spdif optical port if there is just use that
to onkyo

Why not leave SVU7 in TV scart & connect other unit to TV av.

thanks for your reply - i want to connect to the Onkyo av to upcsale the output to tv at 1080i. the picture quality from the sv7 is not that impressive. but i cant understand why the av cant see it. i tried another experiment yesterday. i installed an old dvd player using composite connections to the av. all worked well. i then fitted a scart converter to composite from the dvd, now it is unable to find the dvd player. your help would be appreciated.

Check scart converter is rated as output, some are input only.
Others have a switch to change from input to output
