New Firmware Starview 3 - 8.04e

Hi guys, does the new firmware work in ireland or is it just in the uk. I have downloaded it to PC but when I try to download it to the SV3 Super using RS cable I keep getting the following message "Flash Update Fail", can anyone tell me what is going wrong? Thanks for any help and keep up the good work

WellI am proud of myself , after reading through lots of previous posts I hooked up my Starview 3 last night to my laptop and downloaded the 8.04 firmware.
Followed the instructions and got the box working again.
So many thanks to all involved who share this valuable information with us.
Just one problem , and I have looked through previous posts and taken some info which I am going to try tonight but it would be good to know the correct answer.
I have most of the channels now but the free to air eg BBC 1 BBC2 etc I cannot get to work it just says "no signal" also Sly S 1 works fine but 2 & 3 just keep saying scrambled or bad channel- Any ideas ?

btw, where are you? i scan with t/pest or xc/w. you might get a slight difference if you scan with another provider. also try factory reset, then rescan. make sure emu is on, hit default, then exit to slyspts .wait for update. always works for me . ynwa

anyone know how long it takes to download firmware and put it on box . . and what size usb key is needed

Went home last night armed with a list of different things to try which had taken from this forum yesterday and the one that worked was factory re set and then basically re scan and exit to Sky Sports and wait for update.
All is working great now .
Thanks to all the previous posts - so at the end of the day if you take time to look through previous posts the answer is there if you can be bothered to look !

i was goin on the premise that that box is 'dead',
the starview the box super usb is working fine,
iv been through the thread and it seems some ppl have it workin and some dont, (the sv3 that is) so just wondering if its upgradable now?

dont think there is a fix for sv3's, cant ee it happening either but ou never know.. ynwa
