ya you can use a dongle with a 3g router ive bought this one
        EnGenius 3G Router NET-3G-ESR-6650

it will work for it no problem just make sure whatever router you buy supports your dongle this one does most of them

the only downfall with the dongle might be your ping if its to slow you will have freezing

check your speed here Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

and ping here Pingtest.net - The Global Broadband Quality Test

better if you can use a cable,as said freezing may occur or homeplugs if on the same ring.
