Starview 9600 Lan

Hi,

I am new to this and seen there are two boxes the starview 7 and the starview 9600 lan can someone please tell me the differnece between the two and which is recommended?

one is a cable (SV 7) the other is a satellite box

you need to decide if you are going to use a cable box or a satellite system, they are two totally different systems so you cannot compare one against the other

I know I am goin to use a cable box didnt realise the other was a sat box till you told me but you can get like starview 7 kryptview etc which is the best ?

haven't had any experience with these boxes but by reading plenty of posts the Kryptview A780 seems to get the nod
on the cable side you have the choice of a SV6 - SV7 - or SV HD Combo - Kryptview A780

your best bet is to have a good read of the starview and kryptview forums

hi ive got both kv the better of the 2

ive had both ...and theres more channels on sat than virmin...and for the cost of the c/s and the fact they both last a year cable and sat ...i went back to sat...

but the choice is yours!

I have the starview 9600 caci and i think it works great ..the epg could do with updating like the dreamboxs etc but its easy to use

one bad thing about the 9600 caci is that the epg is caci..you only get whats on and the next prog...but nothing else..?

those boxes arent available now as only a few hundred were made , and they were the sat version of the sv combo which in a different guise is a spiderbox or another one

the 9600 lan can use the combo file or just the sat file

no its not like cable either , as its satellite and so completely different

but it is like the sv combo if used only for satellite and if you ignored the cable side on the combo

so treat one as a sv combo but with no cable connected and you get the picture

if you havent got one , get a spiderbox or blade instead

How does one edit the TP list on a starview 9600- either on the box or via the UDB file ?
