Help! Starview HD Combo or Kryptview

Hi guys, been away from all this for a while. I need a word from the wise.

I am very imminent in the process of shelling out for a new box. I need to know wether to go starview HD or kryptview.

Heres what I know so far (not much) from reading around.

Kryptveiw is a reliable box (more so than SV people say) it clears Cble (abbreviation) easy to set up and flash.

However you have to subscribe to a server and is only sd not HD.

Starview HD combo: Does both Sat and C'ble including s*y HD channels also doesn't necessarily need a server.

Howerver tricky to set up less reliable.

So first question: Whats truth? Whats myth?
Does it open the providers I've mentioned and what others?
How do i set them up? Has any one got the links to areas I need to do it?

Is the starview HD out of production as the new 7 is in now should I wait for the new HD model?

these are the questions that tax some of the greatest minds (ok may'be only mine) have you got the cohonna's to answer them?

    Regards

    Reliability is about the same.
    Additional hardware required null
modem cable (software i.e bootloader and flash files) Need to know your network id and internet connection

For now subscription part of the price you pay for KV box

Starview HD combo: Does both Sat and C'ble including s*y HD channels also doesn't necessarily need a server.

    Also does C'ble HD

Howerver tricky to set up less reliable.

Set up is easier than the above in my opinion.
    Install software via usb stick.
    Scan for channels.
    Connect to router/Connect to s*rver
    Watch ...........

    Currently opens all FTA channels.
Additional hardware required is a usb stick formatted to fat 32.
Download the latest software "carling+" for starview combo and install via a few key presses on remote. (easy so far)
Connect to your router and now you have C'ble including HD.
For S*y via the satelllite side you need a Cline to a server to clear the channels... Simple

Is the starview HD out of production as the new 7 is in now should I wait for the new HD model?

No Starview 7 is C@ble receiver only no Satellite

You can also record programmes on to usb and stream movies and mp3 from your pc to the starview via homestreaming also included in the box.

    Hope that helps BM
Once upon a time it was all about backdoor 0 passwords, now its only about the rsa keys !!!!!!!

      Thanks you

Thank you, Byte master. I think for the most definitive answer I've had on any post. Awsome!

So can anyone point me in the right direction for the tutorial/Files mentioned and especially the servers.

      Thanks again

Server talk is not really allowed on most forums M8 however if you are buying one of these soley for use on C'ble all you need at the moment is to install the correct software for that box and available from the downloads section or google it.
A new software release will be coming out in the next few days for the SV Combo box which will make the box pretty much plug and play.

It will still need an internet connection!

I kno this might sound a bit dumb, but I was wondering with the starview hd combo box. the satalite side ov the box to connect to the server. this only works if you have a satalite dish? is this right? Thanks, Chris.

Yep You need a dish. Motorised is best.

Ten of thousands of channels available.
                    Couch potato stuff.

If you buy a receiver thats C@ble only you will inevitably be in a position that you will have scrambled channel message on the screen regardless if its a Kryptveiw or Starview 7 its simply a matter of time. So whilst it lasts get a HD box and enjoy it while you can...

Haha, thats true. It's a shame if you can't buy the 'combo' no more then it's the euroview. This is only cable side tho
