*** HAVE YOU GOT IT TAKES ****

1st of all if anyone can help me??? I?m a real novice at this and struggling with certain lingo used. If I can speak direct to someone it might help????

I was on this for over 2 hrs yesterday & over 1 hr today and although I've read what different people tried I still can't sort my problem out?

I thought it was connect download and update, most users had no problem, and so why have I?

    I have a SV3 not clonned

I have downloaded the latest firmware GTRom_Super_8.02e (saved my desktop)

I then connected by box with the serial cable to my other cable to use via the PC?s USB.

I double clicked on the GTRom_Super_8.02e, choose the com port and click download.

I get flash failed every time?????

If anyone can maybe talk me through it piece by piece and get my box working I would appreciate it very much. As I said If needed I can phone someone and they talk me through it but I'm really sure I'm doing what the forums tell me to do, but still no joy

    Thank you for your time

not quite sure what you mean by this. you've got your null modem cable connected at one end to your starview, and the other connected to another cable, rs232 to usb? if you can, I would try and connect the starview directly to your pc using the null modem cable.

there have been a few reports of people with SV3 not being able to flash the latest update. Try another flashing another firmware - does that work? you then know the problem lies with the latest gt-rom/loader.

and it's true, 3 hours is nothing for a tecchie problem!
