Oh dear - dead box (SV4)

Just uploaded the firmware update patch and it seems to have killed my SV4.

Located the file on the USB, loaded and just went to a blank TV screen. That was it.
Numbers on the box now read '8882' but it's not responding in any way. The remote has no effect on it.

    Anyone any ideas? Help!

try turning it off at back then back on
the new updated firmware for starview 4 turns emu off after install, maybe you just need to turn it back on ?

      Thanks for the reply.

Turning off and on makes no difference.

Can't turn emu on or off or anything else: there is no communication between the box and the remote.

The box is dead mate. There's nothing wrong with the remote.

People need to be aware of this in case there's a problem with the new software.

                Anyone have any ideas?

Is this box bricked? Is it ready for the bin?

Any way to bring it back to life?

The 8882 fault has actually occurred on quite a few boxes, even those without the patch.

The problem is not purely firmware related. Your supplier is aware of boxes with this fault. As its under warranty send it back and ask for a replacement.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

Thanks. On its way to the vendor.
