i just cant get my starview to connect , ive followed the tut on after dawn , i bought a d link router , does it matter what router i have ?. ive had this box about 2 weeks been through everything twice .i can see carling on there, it scans , it sets my ip & everything . what can it be ? any help would be much appreciated .

no mine has a RS232 in it, ive hard wired it.the box is a starview 7 but thanks for the reply any wayComment

Log into your router (it will tell you how in book or bottom of router)
Check your " connected devices"
You should see one device there as "null" thats your sv7
Switch on box and install the correct software "Carling 1.03"
Box will reboot
You said you have done a scan already but if not do so.
Afterwards press Menu on remote
then press 8989 to activate hidden menu.
Goto CS net or HS Net depending on software and check status.
If still not connected bin the cat 5 or 6 cable your using between router and box and replace with new......Once upon a time it was all about backdoor 0 passwords, now its only about the rsa keys !!!!!!!
