factory default 0000 only wipes channel data not firmware off boxes

Have tried the TV/AV button. Its not that. Have tried the LED option multiple times and doesnt work. It doesnt reboot, just seems to freeze.
I have tried the factory settings method on other boxes and has resolved the issue but doesnt have any effect on this box. Have also tried flashing with carling 1.03 and carling 1.04 to no effect.
Trying to figure another way of trying to get it back to the factory default.

Are you sure rem. control is working OK. UCR on display sounds
like box has been set to AV. Point rem.control at camera on mob.
phone. If it flashes when you press buttons on rem. control it's
working OK.
When you insert USB to re-flash are you getting display on screen. Are you able to scroll thru display to hi-lite Carling 1.04
