Does anyone have the latest news on SV 1? Will there be a fix or not?

With SV2 fix out, gonna wait a couple of days before I ditch SV1 and start looking into getting a linux box.
With my luck, as soon as I pay for the linux box a fix will probably be out for the SV 1 box

Would you now go out and buy the next SV box knowing that the company can/will at some time just stop supporting it without any prior notice or would you now buy a Linux box or Eurovox knowing they will have continued support?
Sv's actions will in time damage the Brand name, would you tell you friends and family to buy a SV or an alternative knowing what we now know ?Comment

Similar sentiment here for Starview The Box PVr (twin tuner). I'm used to it's foibles and the odd failed recording, had this less than a year and will be incredibly disappointed if we are left out of this update.
Not after a massive upgrade just the EMU fixing to cope with the recent issues.
Starview's reputation is really on the line here.Comment

yes i have to agree, i bought my box pvr in april. I thought the idea was ton work on the most recent (usb) and work backwards but the box pvr seems to have been totally overlooked so what is going on here. ill be gutted if ive waisted my money and have to go out and buy another box. Its not as if the pvr is that old. I like my pvr but if they are not going to support a model that is only a year or so old then i will speek with my feet. a shame cos i was thinking of upgrading to the new usb one but dont know if i will risk buying it only to find next year they abondon that box too. RIP starview

There has to be a few red faces on this thread after the nonsense that was spoken at the start. We were only six days into this mini cisis and already there were some who were willing to throw their reciever boxes out of the window and some even had the cheek to scream about bycotts - I can only assume the next step up would have be mass protests on the streets
...
I just don't get it at all. I have sv 1 and 2 boxes - one now has a fix and as a previous post rightly pointed out, I can pick up the new codes within half an hour of the changes so the sv1 isn't going to be suddenly made redundant either...
some of you guys who were moaning should remember there are lots of people around here who give a lot of their time and energy to helping you out - and ponder for a sec just how much a yearly subscription costs. Surely the smile must come back to your faces then... Unbelievable
!!!

i completley agree with that statement , also , if you are not happy with your boxes , either get a subscription or buy a newer box. or stop moaning .There has to be a few red faces on this thread after the nonsense that was spoken at the start. I have to take umbridge to the last few comments, I understand what your saying about the SV 1 and 2. They have been around for a few years now so on the whole people will certainly had there moneys worth from these boxs and as you have quite rightly pointed out, the SV2 has now been updated.
My point was related to the pvr twin tuner box wich overall is a relatively new box, all be it a little buggy, but to discontinue it and apparently not support it with an updated firmware is beyond a joke. I have only had my box since april and certainly dont feel ive had my monieys worth out of it and furthermore i certainly havent had the support i would have expected from the likes of StarviewComment

Newbie Here...Joined at last
Hi everyone, newbie on here, but joined at last! i've read up what everyones got to say and i've got mixed opinions on the SV1. The way I look at it is i've had mine over 2 years now so well got my moneys worth from it, but the SV1 was on sale right up until just a few months ago and there's still the odd few knocking about on fleebay. I recommended a starview to my mate (wish I hadn't) and he picked up a SV1 in about june/july this year, looks like he's got an expensive doorstop (pretty much) now. I think that the SV1 should have at least one more update so people who have JUST bought them can at least get thier moneys worth even if only another 6-8 months. I think if there's no update (and it's not looking that way) it will do serious damage for STARVIEW and people will think with their feet (like me - now going for a KRYPTVIEW)Comment
