no com port - which lead do i need?

I dont know mate, my only other guess would be usb but it depends on which starview you have

will any rs323 to usb work?

there are over a 1000 on ebay! which is the right one? alot of peeps saying you need nullmodem cable?

you need both if you havent got a com port

the usb to serial adapter gives you the required com port as long as you get the correct drivers

you plug the null modem cable into this usb adapter and also into the receiver as well

so both if you havent got a com port , and in theory any of those adapters should work , but may not

will buying an adaptor that converts 323 to usb work?

i have been told to get a PCI card instead

yes this should work, i bought the same one myself. It should come with a mini drivers disk as well wich you need to install before using it. works ok for me on bot my eurovox and starview

i found the best method was using a serial port PCI card then just changing the com port on the GTloader. they're only a few quid on ebay
