Latest FW SVHD+ expiry date issue

After down loading the latest firmware it showing me the expiry date in Network ( HS Net status showing me 2011-05-01).

If i down grade to the eariler version FW:- Carling+_F531_1207.UAD

will this make any difference to the life span on the SVHD+ box.

Also i noticed more SV owners have the same expiry date 2011-05-01, how come?

downgrading will make no difference. from when first sold, it was known they had 1 year sub, unless your seller did not tell you.

Its showing you the date now as they wish it to be seen, the count down was always there you just could not see it thats all.

        Thanks for the reply.

Weird when I purchased the box of a satelite cs user. He advised he's never had cable and paying for the cs server. He's been doing that back in august.

So my next question is when I set this up back in December on the cable side, with the home plugs. Surely the expiry would start from when I attached it to the router and set up the scanned channels and network setup.

Also if the cable side fail, can I use the box on the satellite side payed server.

Also if I changed the mac address would that make any difference. The reason I asked is when I set this up for the first time on the cable side. I received the error login failure. After contacting the chap who sorted my sv out, he gave me another mac address. So if I revert back to the original Mac , do you think that makes any difference.

        Thanks in advance
