Please explain

Hi all
Can someone explain what a bin file is ...and how to open it my computer comes up with windows need to know what program to use to open it ....also once its opened how to load it onto my starview 2 ...Hope some one can help ...and please use language i will understand ....i am completely new to this but from this forum i am begining to learn Thanks

a bin file is a dump of the actual flash required

so download the latest bin file , use the correct loader v4.03 and load in the bin file and download into your receiver

Thanks for that but where would i find the loader v4.03...and then how would i load the bin file ...sorry but i am a complete newbie

you need to download the the rar files from the the sticky post once its back on

you will need to download and install winrar if you havent got it

once winrar installed double click on the rar file you downloaded
and extract them to some where

you should now see to files one being the .bin file the other is the loader file

connect you Box to your pc using the null modem cable and double click the the loader (beg red arrow pointing down)
press the big BIN button and locate the .bin file you have extracted then press download

Hello guys, i'm new on this forum and would appreciate your help. I have Starview2 and i dont have much knowledge on how to update, so would someone be kind enough to explain what is loader and updater ? are they the same ? do i need to get these both to work my box and what versions and where can i get these to download. i would be greatful if you could explain step by step. This will surely help others too like myself. many thanks.
