Starview 7 setup for an idiot.

I received my Starview 7 today. Trying to setup but I am obviously an idiot at this. Need HelpPLEASE.

Have connected box to co-ex V****n cable. When I connect ethernet cable I lose wireless connection on laptop.

Done scan & picking up a lot of signals but mostly reading scrambled. I think I might need to download & Flash. Remember I am an idiot at this.

You won't clear encrypted channels until box has been flashed
        Digital Kaos - Downloads - Starview 7 Carling V1.04
Use diff router port to connect SV7 & when box is connected &
clearing all channels then sort out laptop. You may have to reset
wireless network if it doesn't connect on re-boot. Take a look in
MANAGE NETWORK CONNECTIONS on laptop. Disable wireless
network connection, WAIT & then enable it

          Scrambled! Maybe interference??!

Hey chaps, class site. Ok first off sv7 arrived, worked a dream on 1.04 the stuttered a bit then completely lost all non free channels. Just says scrambled. Tried reboot, rescan, turn off modem. Changed ip setup to not set then auto, ip address came back but still nish works!!!
I can take it back to the guy in the shop but u reckon I should get money back or get it fixed or stick with it? Only want it for the football, but heard it's a little intolerable with it's stuttering. My signal is strong. 95%.
The thing is it's connected via my wifi port along with my ps3 and my iPhone + my girls iPhone picks up the wifi which could take the signal and cause a possible scramble. Is that possible. Also my vm hd box is connected next door and needs to be plugged in and on standby. Could this possibly cause a scramble. Iv only one incommer and it's split between my modem, sv7 and vm box. Someone please help it's doing my nut in!

Would it be possible to run LAN-cable from box to router. Your
signal strength is 95% what's your quality showing

sounds like too high a signal, someone said to try this factory reset first remove lan and coaxial, put coaxial into the other port loop out and scan when channels loaded insert lan and reboot all units,by putting it through the other port signal is dropped and should be ok,if that does not work you may need an attenuator to lower signal to a reasonable level.

Different boxes will show diff signal levels when plugged into
same cable connection. I had a dreambox working on cable with
signal strength 96%, eurovox used to show 85% & anytime I
connected a SV there it would show 90%+
I'd say the SV box will be fine at 95% if he sorts out issues with
his router. Seems to have a lot going thru it & may have conflict
                      with IP addresses

Do I need to connect to the laptop to flash the box or is it through the usb port? do I need a program on the laptop to flash, if so where do I het one from?

copy link at top of page Carling v 1.04. then download onto pc. you do not need a program to download. Transfer file onto memory stick & insert into SV box. Go into utilities , then USB & transfer file onto SV Box. Back to installations & do a factory reboot. SV box will re-boot. Then do your Auto scan.

                          This worked for me.
