hi all nice site and full of info exuse the noobie here i have the box digital reciver with api:4.51e_e boot version:7.0 9.july 2007 and is not working due the recent ntl update ect is there a new firmware out for this box yet as i see so many different ones im getting confused.if so can someone put me in the right direction on here to download it also i have never done it before i have the lead and i ready to learn cheers.

just noticed when i built my gaming pc i anit got the adapter to plug the null lead in any ideas can i get one from maplins or some where online?

buy a usb to serial adapter and then plug in the null modem cable

flash to 4.54 , load in the boot logo file

reboot , factory reset

then load in the v8.00ee bin file from yesterday

can i get one of these usb to serial adapters of ebay i seen some which have usb one end and serial connection on other end or not what price should i be paying for one cheers.would have to be online order as live miles from a pc shop.

yes they sell them on the bay , and they also sell null modem cables on there as you need both , and thery work better in XP although they never work for me so I use a compaq evo desktop with a standard com port and xp , never fails
