Starview 2 - Stuck "On" fix

After i flashed my starview 2 with the latest firmware fix, it was stuck on "On" although I had 4.54 previously and not a cloned box.

How I fixed it:

Used the 4.03 updater -
Download -> YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

Flashed the Starview with firmware 4.51e (App File Only) This should stop the box being stuck on "On" but not fix the KeyRoll
Download 4.51e-> YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

Flashed the starview with firmware 4.54e (Box might get stuck again)
Download 4.54e ->YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

Flashed the starview with Logo file as Background Data file (Might still be stuck on On)
Download Logo file ->YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

Flashed the Starview with latest firmware 802E - It might still be on "On" but plug it into the TV and check if you seen any menu.
Download 802E -> YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement



if still blank.. no menu or channels, ....continue below..


1) Connect the box to the computer with the Null modem cable, switch it off at the back of the box.

2) Load the latest firmware into GTrom again and set it to the correct com port (usually default settings) and select "App File only"

3) Turn the box back on using the switch and Immediately after hit DOWNLOAD in GTrom. It may take a few seconds to connect 10-20seconds. This might not work the first go, but turn it off and keep trying and hitting download, took me 3 goes, before it kicked in and starting downloading.

You won't see the number % on the Starview. Only green lines moving left to right.

Towards the end of the flash you'll see a message in GTRom saying FLASH BURNING. Then it will reach 100% and wait for the download complete pop up box to appear & the box will reboot back to factory setup.

Although my box was still stuck on "On" at this point, i plugged it into my TV and the menu was there. (WooHoo!)

4) You will have lost any channel data previously on the box & will need to autoscan for channels & switch on EMU (Press 1570 in the menu) and set the box up from scratch.

My box is Stuck green light left to right position. Tried everything what you said, downlods all the files but green light just don't stop! Can't do anything basically. Connected to TV but same again just green light going left to right. Any idea what should I do next? And what do you have on display if it s working after flashing?

I recommend you try the bottom instructions with firmware 4.51e. As soon as you turn your box on, hit Download on GTrom.

Does it succcessfully download?
you definitely doing it on a Starview 2 not Super?
You confirmed yours is definitely not a clone?
How did your box get into this state.

It downloads ok, all files copleted 100% but green ligt just do'n stop. Box is definetly SV2 and not clone, I checked that earlier. Box had v.4.51 firmware when I started to upgade but since then it just going left to right. I tried to turn off and then back on download but my problem is not that I think so. I do'nt know what to do???

finally put in the 8.02 file. When its done downloading I'm back to the box showing a static green line once more...
Cant get my head around this at all guys, please help if you can...
ps. I bought this sv2 about a year ago straight from the manufacturers themselves so I'm certain its not a clone...

Stuck with green lines

Hello! I still have same problem. After downloading all the files, just green line going left to right. Have you fixed yor box or still have that problem? I managed to put v.4.51 back from CD but after upgradin it happened again! Anyone knows whats the problem?

Followed this guide, and the first one (with the fix) and the solution posted by hypersonic (starview2 fix problem), but none of them work for the SV2 box that I am trying to update. v4.51e works fine on the box FTA (but no keyroll), but as soon as I put v4.54e (or v4.52) it wont display anything on the TV screen, I just get the ON message on the LCD display. I think we could do with another fix for SV2 for all those who cannot get this one to work.

you need to rescan your box then switch emu on m8
