starview server has gone,thats all starview cable boxes,starview 6,7 and combo,s was hit first,3 people have been arrested (news on cable closet)the server was closed down on the 2nd and the 3rd of feb,3 people have appeard in court over fraude charges,2 people was released,1 has been remanded.the virgin fraude department have been working closely with the police in the last month.the server was tracked.
thier was news of a kv up for grabs,but this now seems just a thought.
annother starview server is highly unlickly to happen.
this is the second thats ben busted in 6 months.

where ever u here that from it the second time in 6 month last place got raided was in ireland ova a year ago

it wasn't server that got raided but the uploaders to server thats why it still connects to server but server aint getting ~~~~ all uploaded to it

February 5, 2011Starview cardshare server busted in Derbyshire

Three men have been arrested in Derbyshire on suspicion of trying to defraud Virgin Media, through use of a large number of modified cable boxes.
A Starview card share server, able to deliver subscription cable TV programming for free to the boxes, is also rumoured to have been shut down in connection with with the arrests.
Anthony Ginnivan, Melvyn Howard and Jong You were charged at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates***8217; Court on Friday, after a police raid at Fernwood Close, Littleover, on Tuesday.
Prosecutor Andrea Charity said that 44,000 modified cable boxes were said to be involved, though did not state how many of these had been sold directly.
The busted operation is rumoured to have involved the large scale sale of modified Starview boxes, connected to a Starview server on a subscription basis.
This would allow buyers to access premium TV content from Virgin Media without having to pay for it. However, they would need to pay the accused a smaller monthly fee to access the server providing the free TV.
While the Starview server was said to be located in Asia, and therefore outside the direct jurisdiction of UK law enforcement, it appears to have been shut down anyway.
Detective Sergeant Graham Prince, said: ***8220;We have been working closely with Virgin Media as part of an investigation into TV fraud. It is alleged that this is a key part of an operation to defraud Virgin Media.***8221;
Malcolm Davies, Virgin Media***8217;s head of fraud and security said: ***8220;We take this matter extremely seriously and will continue to work closely with all the police forces throughout the UK to prosecute individuals connected with this type of TV fraud.***8221;

I Have one question only, I have looked around on news sites but its only one reporting this and that Capital FM site, a bit strange this, and as to the police involvement I only found a news article about men being arrested for selling VM cards on ebay. So the question is does anyone really know the truth of whats going on ?. I have been told that its not the server that is faulty (Based in a different country) but the local card reader systems (Scattered all over UK) faulty or raided unknown, my source says one was raided and the others have gone into hiding until a more secure location is sort. I have also been told that SV have invested too much money for them not to cont.. with the service we are all waiting for.
