fellaini, i seriously dont see your problem with my post.
everyone seems to be having a go at starview who are completely innocent. starview make boxes, plain and simple.
its the server thats ~~~~ed, if our servers on sat side went tits up, then would we have a right to blame the manufacturers of our clones etc?
Also its not the sellers fault (unless they sold you the box knowing the server was dead).

we all know the risks!!, all these people moaning about the sv7/ddduo boxs going down werent moaning when they were getting a decade of free vm with the jarrold,dbox2,sammys and later the sv1/2/3/4 and 5 boxs were they? you have to take the rough with the smooth. i have about 15 obsolete boxs and cards but i got free tv from every one of them. if tv is that important to you then get yourself a legit sub or a multi-sat system as back up. this is our hobby after all! regards mdt

Starview are not completely innocent at all shady, they are not box manufacturers as you seem to think, they are a group of people who will commision companies to manufacture a product to their specifications which in their virgin state are completely legitimate for importing. Then they try to find in most cases one major importer who will be interested in purchasing the product in large quantities of say 1000+ per month. And in return they will have organised someone (who works for them) to set up and maintain an upload server. Starview will have set up the main overseas relay server as well. So if they ever want to sell anything in large scale in the UK again they'd better get their fingers out and soon.

my god did someone say jarrold i think i still got one somewhere i got many a year from it every think goes off in the end it dont matter what box u get always best to get one that u can use for other things open box s9 hd is a cheap box and seems to work ok yes on the sat side atleast u can pick what server u want well with abit of home work i have a starview and hate it well a combo, this is all down to how much money u want to spend at the end of the day,and yes its not nice to buy a box and it dies on u,but the days of plug and play is over u cant trust them simple as end of the day its a risk buying any box how many of u have put your starview on ebay for someone else to loose out i wonder i se theres lots on there
