Okay, lets get real.

Starview doesnt come back, so what now!

Can we replace the carling firmware with one that only allows fta?

I for one cant see a future for cable cs but I dont want to throw away a virtually brand new box.

In fact, if there was an easy way to use the cs network connection to link 2 or more boxes either on home network or share with freinds/family over internet, then I would buy more boxes and use them to stream my own stuff which would be usefull and legit!

They were sold as FTA so they will stay as fta I can not see any thing wrong mate.

The Carling firmware is designed to allow viewing of subscription channels and if removed and replaced with original or hobbyiest firmware that only allowed fta then the boxes would be fully legit and nobody would have to worry about the law

ive just had a email from the guy who sold me my sv7 saying thay will be back up next week.i asked him about sv bringing out a new box he said he hasent heard owt.i do trust him as he hasent gave me any bull in the past.so i will wait till next week and see.

to be honest m8, I was told practically the same thing from my supplier at the fair on Sat, and yes I have known him and trust him but is he only repeating what his suppliers have told him?
Remember, its the guys further up the chain that have a more vested interest to cook up these stories as the have stock to shift.

Maybe they will or maybe they wont come back, but even if they do, for how long?

Anyway, back to my original post, but refrased, where can i get the original firmware from ie the one that the sv7 came with?

You see, if i cant get the channels i bought it for, i want to use the box as fta only and keep it legit
