ok, theres been a lot of pish taking in this forum recently about the sv 7 problems, now a bit of a laugh and bit of a dig now and then is one thing but its going a bit to far now, people with these boxes are getting pished off with it all, dont forget most off us have been down the dodgy box route for quite a few years and it wasnt nice when our boxes went down after a f/w change by vm, most of us came on here asking when is the new f/w coming out etc etc etc, no different really to what the sv 7 users are asking now, some of these users have only had their box a week or so, and have probably wasted their money, so lets cut them some slack and tone it down with the ribbing please, also lets cut the rumours out about the servers coming back unless there is concrete proof, all the sv 7 users can do atm is wait and see, and hope after all they have come here for help, if we dont try and help they will go else where.

There was another cable box that was on sale, people chose to go the cheap route, buy cheap pay twice lesson to be learned here for all, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

hmmmmm can understand that, but most of these peeps just want plug and play boxes, as you know sat is more difficult to set up ( worth it in the long run tho ). and no matter how much you advise a lot of the sv 7 users they wont go down the sat route, best thing to do is tell them what we know and to sit tight and see what happens with the server, or take another risk and go for the more reliable kv A780,( still the same risk with this box ) pish taking will just drive people away from dk and we dont want that. patience is a virtue.

again, in our defence, i know in my case i dont recommend the kv simply because i believe it will be next to go, and nobody needs to be buying another cable box to last for maybe a couple of months.

got to agree with gmb , i went over to sat when the starviews died and have found that the DM500 i have ,seems possesed by the devil sometimes .
They never seem to do the same thing twice , scan for services once and it'll find 400 , do it again next minute and you get 1000 , etc ,etc ! , if you don't get too frustrated with it , it's good fun though.
It only cost me ?60 and when you consider what they're capable of , they're mind bogglingly clever , too clever for your average starviewer like me !
But to all struggling starviewers , i'd say give one a go , because once you get the basic hang of them , they give you everything you had with a starview and more !
All the help you need came from the good folk on DK , you don't need to look any further .

But do not forget about folk like me that live in tower blocks facing the wrong way for Sat dishes!,I can only have cable TV Or free-view thats it!.I would love Sat but simply cannot have it...

Its hardly cobblers mate; how the ~~~~ are we supposed to know where you live? for the majority of people sat is the best option

SV v Sat

Yes alot looked at the sat side and found as you say it a good option,but then there is another 100 or so for a sub to view so by the time you finish its over the 200 mark to set up,alot are pensioners who say spent 150 and another 200 plus is too much for them,as also to get dish etc set up.This is there problem about 150 or so just wasted as only just got sv 7 after saving for weeks,This is not about me but others who cant get the cost together again for a few weeks,yes they will ignore DK as some have been insulting etc to them when they ask what is happening..
