    Remote control not working

    Hi guys n gals

    My remote has stopped working, ive tried the batteries and they are ok, ive also tried the remote on my neighbours box and its fine and his remote wont work my box either..

    must be to do with the box, any ideas ??

    turn it off at the mains , turn it on and retest , if its still the same its faulty

    you can also check your remotes by looking at them through a digital camera or mobile phone camera , but as you tried another one its definitely your receiver thats got the problem

      allready tried that one and just the same.

      any idea what I can do about it ?

      What's that about a camera with the remote, that sounds interesting ??

        What usually happens on these remote are that the springs that attach the battery get stuck inside that it has no proper contact with the battery. So get a small screw driver or small knife and pull it out a little, so the battery can get some contact with spring/coil.

        If that don't work you need a new remote mate. Costs about ?5-?6 on fleebay inc delivery!

            If it's a starview 1 open it up and check the cable from the front panel is pushed in properly, otherwise solder the contacts of the IR receiver to ensure good contact with the board.

              see if you can buy a faulty one and try swapping the psu - 5 mins and your sorted.

                the naked eye cant see a infa red beam, but look at it thru a camera and u can see it
